Built to Showcase Innovation: A World-Class Commercial Showroom
Designed by Stitch Design Shop. Built by Salem Design-Build.
When Ziehl-Abegg set out to elevate its North American presence, the brief was ambitious: a flagship showroom that not only displayed product but embodied the company’s global leadership in ventilation and control systems. Stitch Design Shop delivered a stunning design concept rooted in clean lines, fluid motion, and immersive storytelling. Salem Design-Build was brought in as the execution partner, charged with transforming this vision into a physical space that performs at every level.
Challenge 01: Translating Brand Storytelling into Built Form
The design called for a seamless physical narrative, a space that guided visitors through over a century of innovation with clarity and cohesion. This required meticulous alignment of storytelling elements with fabrication methods that could deliver museum-quality finish and consistency.
Our Build Approach: Salem produced and installed a full-height timeline wall and a series of brand storytelling elements using our in-house large format printing, finishing, and fabrication capabilities. Every panel was precision-fitted on site after being preflighted in our shop to ensure uninterrupted visual flow. The result: edge-to-edge impact with zero compromise on quality or alignment.
Challenge 02: Engineering a Floating Product Display Without Compromise
A centerpiece of the space was a suspended, exploded-view display of Ziehl-Abegg’s core fan system, a gravity-defying focal point requiring invisible structure, absolute accuracy, and flawless safety.
Our Build Approach: We engineered a custom hanging system using hidden supports, precision mounting hardware, and extensive in-shop testing. Each component was measured to the millimeter and installed in layers, creating a 3D product showcase that appeared to float, delivering both structural integrity and architectural drama.
Challenge 03: Precision Integration of Digital + Lighting Technology
Digital interactivity and lighting were core to the design intent, but execution had to be clean, concealed, and coordinated across multiple systems.
Our Build Approach: We fabricated modular media columns and digital signage housings with embedded electrical channels, prewired and assembled in-shop for efficient on-site install. Final placement was templated from 3D mockups to ensure alignment with architectural geometry. Lighting and AV vendors were integrated into our build schedule to allow for seamless handoff and final programming.
Outcome: A Showroom That Reflects Global Leadership
The completed showroom delivers on every front, visually striking, technically sophisticated, and built to perform for years to come. Every surface, structure, and system reinforces Ziehl-Abegg’s identity as an innovation leader.
For Salem Design-Build, this project stands as a clear example of the power of precise execution in partnership with forward-thinking design. From engineered installations to custom fabrication, our team delivered complexity with clarity, on time, on spec, and on brand.
